A
Unique Sidecar !
Dong
Hai Sidecars were never officially distributed however
many of them has made it to the market. The history
of these sidecars are that they were comissioned by
the PLA, however the Chang Jiang 750 was later chosen
over the Dong Hai so they never were mass distributed.
The Dong Hai factory manufactured thousands of these
sidecars and most were never even assembled.
I restores a few of these Dong Hai Sidecars every
year for collectors. The Dong Hai Sidecars are not popular
with the local sidecar riders because of the lack of
parts and also because most of them were never licensed.
These sidecars range from a few hundered dollars for
one like in the first two photo, to about a thousand
USD for one that has been rebuilt.
Our last Dong Hai restoration was in 2009 and we have not seen any since. I think they have gone extinct as of 2011. |
