What should I look for when I am buying my Chang Jiang 750 in Beijing?

It is easy to put a Chang Jiang 750 together and slap some paint on it. It is hard to maintain a Chang Jiang 750 in excellent running condition and also sort out problems of the Chang Jiang 750 such as electrical, transmission, engine, and performance.

If you are going to be in Beijing for a while, do not rush into a purchase, check around and find out which shops are reliable. There are quite a few honest shops and there are shops for people with small brains and thick wallets, and then their is also a non existent shop. Is your dealer honest?
Does the shop have good repair and maintenance service?
What is the reputation of the shop?
What kind of warranty comes with the Chang Jiang 750 sidecar and how long?
Does the shop have many local customers?
Is the shop legally licensed to do business?
Will all your documents be taken care of?
Is the sidecar license and all relevant documents complete?
Make sure the dealer has a shop so you can track him down, trust me when I say this because when you need them to fix your CJ750, he will eternally be out of town or busy!

What should I consider when buying my Chang Jiang 750 overseas?

There are many shops selling Chang Jiang 750 on the Internet with quite a great price range. Check around and ask people especially locals Beijing Chang Jiang 750 bikers as they know which shops have the best service and quality workmanship. There is always a risk of your Chang Jiang 750 being confiscated and crushed if U.S. customs suspect it to be less than 25 years old. Not to scare anyone off, as there are many Chang Jiang 750 that are sent to the U.S.A. and other countries everyday. However with any international sales there is always a risk. You never know what you will get till it reaches your door, so there is no need to pay more than you really have to. Check with your countries import regulations.

Checking out a Chang Jiang 750?

New Chang Jiang 750 sidecars, rebuilt Chang Jiang 750 sidecars, any Chang Jiang 750 sidecars as long as the Chang Jiang 750 sidecar is put together properly, it should be reliable and will give you lots of fun. Our advice is it is best to buy a Chang Jiang 750 sidecar from someone you know, if possible. Or, if not, try to find a Chang Jiang 750 that is has been well taken care of by its previous owner or from a reputable dealer. You do not want to be up in the mountains somewhere or miles away from home and it breaks down. If you are new to Beijing, give us a call or drop us a line. If you have bought a CJ750 from a dealer with fake plates (Hebei Plates) please note:

It is illegal to ride such vehicles.
The police may confiscate the vehicle from you.
If you are involved in an accident that is not even your fault you will have to pay for it.
Insurance companies will sell you a policy but will not pay out, because your CJ plates are fake, and the documentation is not valid.
You do not know the origin of the CJ, it may be from a questionable source, i.e. such as one that has been stolen and the VIN removed.
If you are in an accident, the seller of this vehicle is 100% responsible for your usage including any claims or liabilities that may arise.
If your CJ gets stolen (which happens frequently) you cannot even report it to the police.If you already have a CJ750 with fake plates, we recommend that you return it to the shop and get your money back or have them register it for you if they do not, call the police.
Remember 2003,2005 CJ750 with legally registered Beijing "Jing A" plates list price is only 25,000RMB.
